Disc Go Technologies announced today that they would be unveiling "the world's first fully automated digital disc repair machine" at the E3 show in Los Angeles in May. Although the concept of repairing DVD's, CD's, and even game discs is not new, this is the first time an automated machine has been made available for commercial applications where huge quantities of disc repairs need to be carried out on an ongoing basis.

Disc Go Technologies has been involved in disc repair since its infancy and has many years experience in repairing all kinds of discs first hand, which has been distilled in the design of their latest disc repair machine, the DGM6. The company places a strong emphasis on the machine's robust reliability incorporating components from such industrial automation heavyweights such as Allen Bradley, Baldor and Festo.

Despite not having yet launched their new machine, Disc Go Technologies has already received sizable orders for these machines from organizations that repair more discs than anyone else in the US. "Some of the biggest players in the industry have already chosen the DGM-6 to ensure that they are quickly and economically fulfilling their disc repair requirements" said Rick Mathers, VP Sales & marketing for Disc Go Technologies. "The numbers are compelling the DGM 6 machines are reducing the disc repair costs so dramatically for our customers that they can recover the capital outlay for the machines in as little as nine months while rapidly clearing their backlog of discs awaiting repair."

With over 11 billion CD's and DVD's produced in 2002 [according to the International Media Association] and a growth rate of 6% a year, the demand for disc repair is only going to grow. When one takes into account the fact that sales of computer and video games (whose predominant medium is the disc) grew by just under 15% during 2000 in the US, it looks as though this growth rate can only increase further.

Disc Go Tech will be launching the DGM6 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) show, which is held at the Los Angeles convention center May 14 - 16. For further information call (1) 604 514-8236.
