The following are common questions you might have while using your Disc-Go-Pod PLUS. Should you have any other questions not addressed here please call our Customer Service and Technical Support line: 1-866-237-3724 ext. 215
My pump doesn’t seem to be pumping the polish into the chamber. What can you suggest?
Check to make sure there are no tears or holes in the polishing hose. If there does not appear to be any damage, remove polish from tank, set aside and follow the instructions below.
- Take pump out of tank and remove cover at one end. Remove bean shaped black part and screen if there is one.
- Using your finger try and spin the white spindle, it should feel as if it is spring loaded.
- Using your finger or a pen you can pop out that spindle and look behind to see if there is any polish caked on.
- Flush out pump with a bit of water and use a q-tip to clean inside.
- Put pump back together and fill pump tank with warm water.
- Run machine for 30-60 seconds to get water through the pump and discard.
It is always a good idea to remove the polish from the tank and reserve it for later use in a lidded container. Run warm (not HOT) water through the Disc-Go-Pod PLUS after each session to extend the life of your polish and Disc-Go-Pod PLUS. This should be done at the end of each session to avoid clogging the pump.
When I take the disc out after a cycle it doesn’t look as good as when I first started using the Disc-Go-Pod PLUS. What can I do to fix this?
It may be time to change the polishing pads or the polish. This is usually the best indicator for changing consumables. Don’t worry, that last disc can be repaired again after you change out the consumables.
When I turn my Disc-Go-Pod PLUS on the motor makes a high pitched squealing sound, what should I do?
Remove the Disc Clamping knob, Disc Cushion and Disc Platform and add a drop of 3-in-1 oil to the top of the motor shaft. This should be done monthly. If you cannot find 3-in-1 oil, your standard high quality sewing machine oil is comparable.
After repairing several discs my Disc-Go-Pod PLUS just shut down and now it won’t turn on. How can I fix it?
This is called overheating and is normal if you are doing back to back repairs. The Disc-Go-Pod PLUS is fitted with an internal temperature gage to cut off the power if the unit becomes too warm. There are several ways to reduce this:
- Leave 1-2 minutes in between repair cycles.
- Ensure the polish is flowing correctly and top up the tank every 2-3 discs with water to keep the temperature down and keep the pump fully submerged.
- Make sure the polishing pads are adjusted and not creating too much pressure on the spinning disc platform. The more pressure to the platform the harder it is to spin, causing the motor to work twice as hard to get the desired effect.
If overheating does occur, the unit will be inoperable for approx. 30-40 minutes. If the unit does not resume after allotted time, please call our Customer Service Department at 1-866-237-3724 ext. 215.
